1. AFCEA Educational Foundation Scholarship: The AFCEA’s $2,000 General John A. Wickham Scholarships are awarded to full-time sophomore, junior or senior students with GPAs of 3. 5 or higher who are enrolled full time in aerospace, computer engineering & science, electrical engineering, math or physics programs at accredited four-year institutions.

2. $2,000 Alice L. Haltom Educational Fund: These computer science scholarships are awarded in $2,000 increments for students working towards a bachelor’s degree and $1,000 increments for students working towards an associate’s degree.

NFB Computer Science Scholarship: The NVM provides about 30 scholarships each year at its national convention to U.S. blind students who participate in the entire NFB convention and are pursuing or planning to pursue full-time, postsecondary studies (except for one scholarship given to a part-time student working full time).

6. ThinkQuest Internet Challenge: $5,000 computer
engineering scholarships from the Oracle Education Foundation are available to teams of students through this international website-building competition.

Scholarship Description:

The support is normally provided in the form of travel grants for principal speakers from abroad and/or participants from developing countries other than the country where the meeting is held. Eligibility of Applicants

TWAS, AAS and Microsoft Research Ltd. only consider applications made by the organizers of international and regional scientific meetings being held in Africa.

Employees of TWAS, AAS and Microsoft Research Ltd., as well as employees of other industry research laboratories and anyone involved in the administration of this award, are not eligible.

TWAS, AAS and Microsoft Research Ltd. do not provide support to individual scientists wishing to attend a scientific event, even if the event is taking place in a developing country.

Local authorities must share in the responsibility for the event and should give proper support. Each application must show at least a (conditional) matching contribution from local sources.

The research and doctoral programme are geographically spread over two locations, namely the academic home institution and a Flemish university. In this way both local and Flemish expertise are combined to offer you and both research groups a win-win effect. The selection committee assesses and ranks all proposals according to quality and relevance for the South.

Target group
The call is open for people who graduated not earlier than 2006, or will graduate in 2011, from a Flemish, VLIR-UOS funded Master programme (ICP). As an applicant, you must meet other criteria, which we specify in the call.

Beginning with the 2007/2008 academic session, scholarships will be offered to recognize and reward the excellence of international graduate students pursuing Master’s or Ph.D. degrees at the University of Manitoba. The scholarships will be offered to students who:

* are international students (i.e., those in Canada on study permits) continuing in full-time study in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba in either the second year of a two-year Master’s program, the second year of a two-year Ph.D. program, the second or third year of a three-year Ph.D. program, or in the first year of a Ph.D. program after completing a Master’s degree at the University of Manitoba;

Study Subject: Performing arts, sports, debating or creative writing, or external academic competitions and examinations.

The ILOT Award recognizes international students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, recognized achievement in fields of endeavour such as the performing arts, sports, debating or creative writing, or external academic competitions and examinations.

ILOT Award winners receive an award-level commensurate with their financial need as determined by the costs of their tuition, fees and living costs, minus the financial contribution the student and their family can make annually towards these costs. A standard needs-assessment is made, based on financial information provided by students and their families.
The ILOT Award can be renewed for up to three additional years of undergraduate study, or to degree completion, whichever is less, provided the student achieves satisfactory academic standing in their Faculty, continues to demonstrate financial need, and maintains their Canadian Study Permit (visa)
